Do schools sometimes let you in if you are slightly below the required GPA?
Question by raspberryph: Do schools sometimes let you in if you are slightly below the required GPA?
Will a University sometimes accept you if you are just slightly below their required GPA?
This is just a for a post-bachelors certificate program, not a masters degree.
a 3.0 GPA is “required” I have a 2.97
I am desperate to get in here. My “program” GPA was above a 3.0. Its just the overall.
Do I still have a chance of getting in? Like I said, its not a masters degree, its just a certificate in HR for the PHR Prep. This is an online program if that makes a difference.
I would just round up on my app, but they are requesting my transcripts.

It shouldn’t be an issue especially if you can explain why you may have dropped your GPA with a certain class at a certain time or event causing it. I hope this helps. Good luck

If they specify “required” then it is indeed required. They have to cut off applicants somewhere. Even if you meet the minimum requirements, you will be in competition with applicants who have 3.5 – 4.0, and those with only the minimums are rarely accepted. The applicant who meets the minimum in something would have to have truly outstanding qualifications in some other requirement to make it.
